Cornelius Voted 7th Most Affordable Suburb in 2009

BusinessWeek recently released a report on the “best affordable suburbs in the U.S. 2009.”  The overall winner was Pewaukee Wisconsin, however Cornelius (located at the southern tip of Lake Norman) came in 7th place.  Jeff Tarte, Mayor of Cornelius said on the town website, “I want to personally congratulate all Cornelius residents for making Cornelius a little piece of paradise and for being recognized as the 7th best affordable community in the United States.”  With low taxes and crime, great parks, many recreational activities, amazing schools, and safe neighborhoods it’s no wonder Cornelius placed where it did.

Needless to say this is a quite a large turn around in the course of a year and nice recognition.
