Event Information
| Event Name |
Sandburg & Segovia - a literary journey with Dr. Jhon Akers |
| Event Description |
In this unique program combining classical guitar performance, dramatization of Sandburg's best guitar-inspired writings, and narration of Sandburg's lifelong love of the guitar and the Spanish master Segovia's playing, the audience will be awakened to the rich literature and music of two distinct cultures, united by our universal respect for the guitar.
Jhon Akers has created an important, entertaining, amusing and informative living document and invites all to spend an hour in the unchartered waters of Sandburg's life as affected by his love of his "small friend," the guitar. Akers has presented this special work from coast to coast, stage to library, school to church--with a resounding endorsement of the United States Department of the Interior who has invited him several times to the Carl Sandburg National Historic Site in Flat Rock, NC |
